Berries on the back foot

Saturday, 9th February: 3–1 loss

Berries lost this game against London Eds in the first 15 minutes, as they went 3–0 down. However, having picked themselves up and got a bit of control back in their play, Berries did pull one goal back when Jenny touched in a superb cross from Helen S, after some nifty passing from Susie.. although Eds were quick to close Berries down and force the wayward pass.

In the second half, Berries did get better and were pushing for a goal to put them right back in contention.  All the forwards went close with shots on goal but found that the ball always hit the Eds’ keeper’s foot (beginners luck).

Eds still had some chances to extend their lead, but were either thwarted by a last ditch tackle, saved by Berries Goalkeeper Lin, or shot wide and wasted the chance.  Everyone worked really hard to turn the game around but it was not to be.

Final score: 3–1 loss to London Edwardians
